Description

In early June of this year, I was fortunate enough to acquire a Celestron EdgeHD 8 telescope. Before purchasing the telescope, I was warned about the potential challenges of collimating it. However, once I began using the telescope, I found that I was having significant difficulties getting anything to focus properly. It took me almost six weeks of experimentation and troubleshooting before I was able to successfully use the telescope for a night of astrophotography.

I was able to process the collection images from that night today and I am not total pleased with how the stars came out, that night I remember having guiding issues and thought I achieved a level of focus I didn't use a Bahtinov mask. I will revisit this object again, but I will be spending more time this Fall and Winter with the EdgeHD 8, to get ready to image galaxies in 2024.
